Capacent participates in a seminar for board members in family-owned companies
26.11.2009Capacent lectured in subjects relating to Strategy Measurement, Financial Performance Measurement and Risk Management, when CV Group and The Finnish Family Firms Association arranged a two-day seminar at the Hahkiala Manor in November 2009.
The participants represented mainly the young generation of Board members in a few well-known Finnish family-owned companies. A variety of businesses were consequently represented at the event and the Manor offered a beautiful and informal surrounding for a highly efficient meeting. The participants also received information on the Board member´s legal responsibilities, the role of innovation as a prerequisite for survival and how the Board can add value for its business. The model proved to be highly successful and it is most likely that similar seminars will be arranged in 2010.
For Capacent, this event proved that new-thinking and alternative approaches gain interest also among Board members in rather conservative and traditional companies. We also got confirmation for our view, that the ideal governance model can be derived from a combination of best practices in private, state-owned and private-equity -owned companies.
